St. Johns has made its presence known in the community through an annual presentation of a community Easter Pageant.  For 31 years, St. Johns, with support of members of other churches, presented the Passion week of Jesus.  Colorful costumes, a rousing choir, and the strong message of the death and resurrection of Christ provided a strong evangelism message.
St. John's Sponsored a Spaghetti Dinner to help raise funds for the City's Christmas decorations.  Over $1000 was raised and will have matching funds by Thrivent for Lutherans Community Outreach.
St. John's Youth participate in an annual 30-Hour Famine to raise awareness of hunger in the world.  Food goods and money are collected and donated to to the local food pantry.
During Circus Week in July, the largest Circus Parade in the country is held in Peru.  For many years St. Johns has entered a float in the parade and has won several awards.
